If you only make one upgrade to your life this summer, It should be this.

Updated: Nov 26, 2021

What is it that you've been putting off...avoiding? What scares you so much the thought makes you recoil like you've just seen a snake ?

I bet the reason has nothing to do with logic, and everything to do with what you believe about yourself to be true.

And what you believe about yourself will either wipe out your chances or change your life.

So as you can see, I’m a betting kind of gal. And I’m willing to bet that the real reason you’re crinkling your nose and being all, “Nooo, I’m not ready for this yes, I haven’t figure it out yet!” is really because:

· You’re got a history of not following through for yourself

· You’re scared it’ll come out wrong

· And you don’t trust yourself to take it SERIOUSLY and do the damn thing.

Too many times, you have let yourself down. Too many times, you’ve had it all planned out and had the highest of hopes for, only to get mad at yourself later when you realize that, yet again, ya didn’t follow through.

I can relate to that. I’m a champion when it comes to never giving up, but my blind spot is when it comes to exercise—I always have to fight this narrative that “I’m just made this way,” and “it’s not going to help” and “ I’m just going to let myself down agin.”

So you know what I’ve had to do? (Because I’ll be damned if I let myself be the source of my own sabotage!)

I’ve had to learn how to STOP NEGOTIATING WITH MYSELF.

Stop having an opinion about whether or not I should exercise—and just take the actions that I know I need to take, to put me in a better place tomorrow.

Without passing judgement on those actions. Without letting myself rationalize why today isn’t a good day, or I deserve time off, or I’m too full, or any other host of reasons why I’d be better off getting on the bicycle tomorrow, instead of today.

Sound familiar?

I’m SURE you can relate, at least in one area of your life.

But I’m also guessing that a lot of the reason why you’re shying away from enrolling is because you’re telling yourself that you’re “just not good at following through,” and “you’re always going to be like this,” so why “waste your time?”

So if you are thinking about enrolling, but worry that you won’t follow through and then it’ll just be this thing sitting on my hard drive,” here’s my advice to you:

And stop running through every reason in the book as to why you won’t make it happen, and just get the freak out there and do some damn push-ups without trying to talk yourself out of the damn push-ups.

One push-up every day, and you’ll be strong as HELL by the end of the year.

And one ah-ha moment every day about how to get your name out there for FREE?

You're thrilled by the idea of change. Won't it be great to do something I've always wanted to do. You tell your family and friends because you want to share your excitement.

Here it comes, "you have a good job, why would you want to leave it" or "you're just going through a mid-life crisis"

"Life coach? what the hell is a life coach?"

"We like you just the way you are and whatever you do, don't make me uncomfortable, stay small." wah, wah, wah...

Soon you start smoking what they're dishing out. You start thinking to yourself, "this is crazy, expensive and will take a lot more time than you initially thought. This is a bad idea." You crawl back to the comfort of your safe job that you absolutely loathe.

The transition from wanting something to actually going for it, can be the difference between failure and success, according to bestselling author Jen Sincero, who wroteYou Are a Badass (one of my favorite writers and book) the number one thing that holds us back from change is ourselves.

Our self-doubt has a way of psyching us out, convincing us that we don’t have what it takes to get what we want out of life.

Sincero believes, that self-confidence is like a muscle; the more you use it and believe that you really can achieve whatever you put your mind to, the easier it becomes to have the strength to do even newer, scarier and more exciting things.

There is no denying, our environment and world has changed. The pandemic is going on 90 days and we don't have a clear date when this will be over but it will end at some point.

BUT who will you be or who do you want to be when this is over?

The same person or someone different?

Some say it's the perfect time to do that thing you have been putting off or scares the shit out of you.

I know making changes can be draining and exhuasting.

You plan it all out in your head, playing it over and over again.

"What if's" and limiting beliefs

Barbara walked me through the whole way, and we were able to make a lot of progress in a short amount of time. This method really helped me to see the different sides of the situation and go into the interview with more confidence and less fear.
